Delmaytion Top King
Bay Morgan stallion

The top left photo shows King's black counter shading dorsal, and red coat color on his rump, as well as a total absence of any sort of dun looking tail head frosting. The top right photo shows his overall deep red color. It is very rare to find a true bay dun that has rich red tones. Even those few that have been round still tend to show just enough of the dun dilute tones (sometimes dependent on the seasonal coat and/or lighting) to provide a hint of their dun dilution.

The bottom left photo shows the unusual red counter shading dorsal (and mane) on a palomino colt out of one of King's daughters (chestnut), sired by the buckskin stallion, Silouette Acres Skyefire, whose cream gene comes through Californio. This colt is simply a palomino who was born with mane and counter shading dorsal that was not yet fully diluted. It is not uncommon for palomino foals to be born a rather peachy red overall coat color, but by foal shedding they are clearly golden with white mane and tail.

The foal in the bottom right photo is out of a chestnut mare and sired by Delmaytion Top King. This newborn bay foal sports King's trademark countershading dorsal.
