DM Prairie Smoke'N (Smoke)
Smoky Black Morgan

Smoke's sire has no "color" lines in his pedigree, so there couldn't be any dilution gene at all from this side. However, his dam is a cremello, whose cream gene comes through the well known Yellow Gold (x Morgan Gold) through her sire, and through the well known dark palomino stallion, Speedking.

In the top two photos, you can see that Smoke is quite typical of smoky black foals, having a sort of chocolatey coloring. Grulla foals will be born either buff with a dove tone, or a pale dove-gray. Also common in smoky black foals, he had a counter shading dorsal. The bottom two photos show foal camouflage leg markings, which are not uncommon on various colored foals, whether they have a dilution gene of some sort or not.
