CJ Sparkling Gem (Dusty)
Buckskin Morgan gelding

Dusty's sire, Worlds Edge Goldoak, is a palomino, whose cream gene comes from his sire, the well known palomino stallion, Californio. Dusty's dam is a black mare with no "color" lines at all. So there is no question that Dusty is from "cream dilute only" lines.

Dusty has a golden coat, typical of a buckskin, with orange-gold tones. If he were dunskin or bay dun, his coat would have yellow-tan tones more like peanut butter, or caramely-red tones.

Even though his winter dorsal can be very vivid and dark, it is a counter shading dorsal, not a dun dorsal. His summer dorsal is still quite visible, but not nearly as vivid or black. His wither patch is only seasonal, whereas a dun wither patch is present year round.
